Online Bookable Appointments

We are pleased to make available online bookable appointments to allow patients to easily book routine appointments for blood tests, pill checks, cervical smear and pre-assessments for long term conditions (annual health reviews by invite only). These are the only appointments available to book online at the moment but this will be under ongoing review and other appointments may be available to book online in the future.

If the appointment you require is not showing as available online, please contact the surgery as there may be additional availability for staff to book.

Please ensure you book the correct appointment as outlined below as any inappropriate bookings will have to be cancelled and this may cause a delay in your ongoing care needs.  You will not be able to discuss any other medical matters at these appointments, please contact the surgery to book a separate appointment or use our eConsult system via the Oaklands Health Centre website.

  • Blood tests:

Please select a ‘blood test’ appointment from the drop down menu. These are 5 minute appointment slots for a blood test only with our Phlebotomist Kim.  Please ensure you have a hospital form or that a blood test has been requested by a member of the Oaklands Health Centre team.

  • Contraceptive Pill Checks:

Please select a ‘contraceptive pill check’ appointment from the drop down menu.  Only book this appointment if you are already on a contraceptive pill and require a yearly or 6 monthly check and require a repeat prescription.

  • Cervical Screening:

Please select a ‘cervical screening’ appointment from the drop down menu only if you have been invited either by the NHS or by Oaklands Health Centre.  Cervical screening is done every 3 years for women aged between 25-49 and every 5 years for women aged 50-64.  If you are unsure when you are due, please contact the surgery before booking an online appointment as the nurse may be unable to complete the screening if this is booked too soon.

Where possible, please book mid-menstrual cycle.  For more information on the cervical screening programme, please follow this link to Jo’s Trust website: www.jostrust.org.uk/information/cervical-screening

  • Diabetic Query:

Please select a ‘diabetic telephone query with nurse only’ appointment, only if you have a query specifically regarding your diabetes.  Please use this appointment if you wish to speak directly to the diabetic nurse.

Online appointments can be booked and managed via the NHS app.  If you haven’t already downloaded the app, please follow this link NHS App - NHS (www.nhs.uk)
